10. Getting There (2002)

Via Youtube

Yes, It is a Mary Kate & Ashley movie. However, their journey to watch the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City is full of hilariously terrible puns and a cute olympic skier. (Admit it. There is nothing quite like an MK&A movie)

9. Ice Princess (2005)

This movie might give you hope that you could start training for a sport at any given age and actually end up finding your long lost talent. This isn’t really what the Olympics are about considering all of those athletes have been training in that one event their entire lives, but the Olympics are about hope, big dreams and figure skating which are all represented in this movie.

8. Blades of Glory (2007)

Luckily we do not experience male partnering in the Olympics, but this is comedy gold.

7. Ice Castles (2010)

Tragedy, loss, hope and big dreams; the story of many an Olympian.

6. Mystery, Alaska (1999)

Coach Bombay, the Bash Bros, & the Flying V.

If you need more reason than that I can’t even help you.

Via Tumblr

Hockey and figure skating collide in this drama that is all about a life long dream of an Olympic gold medal.

3. Downhill Racer (1969)

Ummmm. Robert Redford. Done deal.

This movie is about a man joining the US Ski Team and the journey of becoming a true member of the team.

2. Cool Runnings (1993)

It’s a classic and it is actually the reason the Jamaicans made it to Sochi this year! (They used the publicity of the film to raise the money they needed to make it to the games.)

1. Miracle (2004)

You’ll cry, you’ll laugh, you’ll know why OC played college hockey, you’ll see some good fights and did we mention OC’s beautiful hair and face? This movie based on the 1980 USA Olympic Hockey team encompasses all that the Winter Olympics represent.
