Elvis Presley’s earliest extant signature is on a library check-out card

In 1948, a 13-year-old Elvis checked out The Courageous Heart: A Life of Andrew Jackson for Young Readers from his high school library…

The check-out card bearing his unwittingly important autograph was discovered during a library inventory and was auctioned off for $7,500. I can only imagine the scurry to find another one, since he surely checked out more than one book over the course of his academic tenure.
