Is Hosni Mubarak dead … again?

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak seems to keep dying. At least, that’s the case if you rely on Twitter for your information. Last week’s claim that Mubarak was dead turned out to be a hoax. Today’s claim seems to focus more on the difference between “dead” and “clinically dead,” with a sizable dollop of humor thrown in for effect.

BREAKING: State news agency says Mubarak's heart stopped beating, not responding to defibrillation.

— The Associated Press (@AP) June 19, 2012

To summarize MENA: Mubarak is in mil hospital. Had stroke, heart stopped, didn't respond to shocks, he's "clinically dead". Waiting on more.

— Amr Gharbeia (@gharbeia) June 19, 2012

For the enormous freakout Twitter just had, original MENA story hasn't really changed. Sounds basically like Mubarak is comatose.

— Evan Hill (@evanchill) June 19, 2012

Mubarak's legacy is a hospital system that can't diagnose him properly and a media system that can't report the truth accurately.
