Man Casually Drives Plane Down Main Road To Get A Drink At The Pub (Photo)
If I were merely going through the motions, I would have opened up this article with something like, “You’ve heard of drinking and driving… but how about drinking and flying?”
Luckily for everyone, my fingers would rather cut themselves off than write that sentence seriously.
Additionally, it wouldn’t really make sense in the context of this story because the propeller plane an Australian man decided to drive to the pub in search of a drink didn’t actually have wings attached.
The 37-year-old, who was described by police as “one of our local characters,” attracted a great deal of attention after taking his vehicle for a spin at 2:30 on Friday afternoon.
Unfortunately for the unnamed and unlicensed pilot, the aforementioned police didn’t find the stunt as amusing as the 200 people in attendance at the hotel pub he had traveled to.
The man was able to get a drink, but the police soon joined him at the bar and eventually charged him with “endangering a life,” saying that the plane — which the man steered with foot pedals — could have caused a fair amount of carnage if something had gone wrong.
