Weekend Entertainment Rewind: Lady Gaga, Hillary Clinton, ‘Star Wars’
Here’s a quick recap of what you may have missed in the world of entertainment this weekend.
1. Lady Gaga Releases Art for “Applause” Single
Lady Gaga‘s anticipated musical comeback gained steam Sunday as the 27-year-old pop star made several announcements on social media, including unveiling the artwork for her upcoming single “Applause.”

Gaga will perform the single, which is available for purchase on iTunes starting Aug. 19, for the first time during MTV’s Video Music Awards on Aug. 25. On Facebook, Gaga announced that pre-orders for her ARTPOP album and its companion app will launch on Aug. 19 instead of Sept. 1 as originally planned. The album and app arrive on Nov. 11.

2. Diane Lane to Play Hillary Clinton in NBC Miniseries
Academy Award-nominated actress Diane Lane, who most recently played Superman’s adoptive mother in Man of Steel, will star as former first lady Hillary Clinton in a four-hour miniseries on NBC. It will tell the story of “Clinton’s life as a wife, politician and cabinet member from 1998 to present,” NBC announced Saturday.
The miniseries reportedly will be released just ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
3. John Williams to Score New Star Wars Film
“The galaxy far, far away, I actually feel like I’m still in it — I’ve never really left it,” Williams said in the video above, which accompanied the announcement.
Costumed Star Wars fans participated in the 2nd Course of the Force this month.
